Sustainable forest management
Sustainable forest management is the systematic
use of forest resources that ensures and
harmonizes ecologically, economically and
socially our livelihoods and that of our future
generations.
Forest Census
The forest census is a statutory requirement
that allows us to make an inventory which
determines the number and type of trees in our
forest; at this stage is where commercially
valuable trees are identified and marked to have
reached minimum cutting diameters, seedling
trees and those for future harvesting.
Annual harvesting area
In accordance to the law of territorial forest
concession, the total area of sustainable forest
management is divided into 20 parcels for single
parcel use per year. This means that after 240
months or 20 years of regeneration, the twenty
first cutting cycle or year will once again
begin in the same place it started, parcel
number 1, thus guaranteeing this certified
forest’s sustainable productivity and permanence
for eternity.
